5/5/2012: Screen goes black here. Use Windows Media Player or Apple QuickTimePlayer Updated 10/13/08 but still present 5/8/12 with videos that use Windows Media Player: Here is a noise from the right rear well that ends with a 'pop' sound. Here is the same 'pop' like sound, but from kneeling by the right corner of the X5 rather than resting the camera on the right rear tire like the other clips. [A longer clip of just the noise near right rear tire. I'm clueless.] This is the closest I have seen the gas gauge to full:
Links below not active: 5/16/12 Two short clips of a dash noise {ac 'doors'?} here and here - or a longer video from inside my X5 - is compromised but perhaps one can hear well enough to get a sense of the problem. Unfortunately the digital video camera that was used picked up noises outside the X5 better than the noise coming from the dash. Then I could not find a cable to convert a film clip for the web and a friend who did the last one for me did not use the best section of the video tape. The result is that you have to turn up the volume on your computer and listen carefully toward the front of the clip and toward the end to hear what is at issue. Please believe me when I say that most mornings this 'medal clicking' type noise is much louder than what you can hear with this poor quality video and very distracting. When listening to the clip, the foreign sound is most distinct on a system with sensitive speakers and a good base subwoofer. Just because I'm frustrated, I added a short clip of how the inside corner of the right window fogs up on occasion and blocks my use of the right outside mirror. Again this condition was judged as normal by the dealer and blamed on high humidity but I never had this problem with my 2004 4.4 sport X5. Here is the clip for the foggy window. |
