From the 3rd May to 9th May 2010, all Pentecostal churches in Uganda, believers and various umbrella organizations of different Pentecostal streams desire to come together as one big river to celebrate the ministry of the Holy Spirit during the last 50 years.
In 1960, the British Colonial Government granted the first official permission to a Pentecostal church to work throughout the country of Uganda.
Even though in September 1977, President Idi Amin banned all Pentecostal Churches, they grew even more during that time of persecution.
The last three decades have seen the growth, establishment and organization of churches under different umbrellas such as; Miracle Center Churches, National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches, Born Again Faith Federation of Uganda and Evangelical Fellowship of Uganda. It is estimated that there are over 1 million Pentecostal believers in Uganda. Schools, orphanages, medical services and income generating projects, to mention a few, have sprung up throughout the entire country. The Pentecostal church has powerfully influenced the entire fabric of the Ugandan society.
It is in this spirit that all Pentecostal churches (code named “The Pentecostal Week”) have come together to celebrate 50 years of ministry by the Holy Spirit.
The main events are:
Monday 3rd May 2010:
A grand Pastors Banquet in Serena Hotel codenamed “COMMUNION NIGHT”.
Tuesday-Thursday 4th -6th May 2010:

Friday 7th May 2010:
